Tourism Master Plan 

Project Overview

The Kuchchaweli Beach Tourism Zone is an important tourism destination and after the civil conflict tourist arrival to the East coast increased. Kuchchaweli is in the Eastern Province bound to Kuchchaweli beach and surrounded by several attractions like Pigeon Island, Nilaweli, Kanniya hot water springs, Whale and Dolphin watching etc. A site with this kind of natural landscape
environment is highly crumbly and profound while the selected spot in the best location of rich nature and attractions viewpoints on its specific potential for a sustainable beach tourism development. As a responsible Authority, SLTDA decided to prepare a master plan and regulate the development. The task is
offered to Canopus.

Additional Works

Under this contract, the Canopus team undertook four additional tasks above the preparation of the master plan.

Carrying out a Topographic survey of the SLTDA-owned land lots in the area.

Conducted an underwater survey in the adjoined marine ecosystem to identify the potential and existing marine environment.

Prepared a video documentary regarding the Tourism Master Plan and its proposal.

Preparing Land Subdivision Plan and Town Planners Report on Land Subdivision.
